This Privacy Policy describes the ways in which Host Domination, a project of Marco Livio, processes the personal data of users who visit the hostdomination.com site, use the related services, fill in contact forms, request information, purchase digital services or use related applications and tools, including, but not limited to, the GuesTax app, Host Domination Booking Engine and all other digital and non-digital products.

The processing of personal data takes place in compliance with EU Regulation 2016/679, known as GDPR, and the applicable Italian legislation on the protection of personal data. The GDPR requires users to be clearly informed about the controller, purposes, legal bases, storage times, rights and methods of data processing.

Host Domination may process different categories of personal data, depending on the service used.

3.1 Data provided voluntarily by the user

When you fill out a form, submit a request, or contact Host Domination, we may collect:

  • name of the activity or accommodation facility;
  • website or domain;
  • messages sent via form, email or WhatsApp;
  • information needed to prepare quotes, configure services, or provide support.

3.2 Data relating to customers of Host Domination services

In the case of services aimed at hosts, accommodation facilities, B&Bs, holiday homes, commercial activities or professionals, data related to the technical and commercial management of the service may be processed, for example:

  • data of the accommodation facility;
  • customer contact details;
  • public information to be included in the site;
  • images, texts, descriptions and content provided by the customer;
  • technical data related to domain, hosting, CMS, WordPress, plugins and configurations.

3.3 Data processed via connected apps, such as GuesTax

Apps connected to the Host Dominationproject, such as GuesTax, may process data necessary for the operation of the app, for example:

  • name of the accommodation facility;
  • tourist tax settings;
  • amounts, number of guests, nights or stays;
  • preferences and configurations saved in the app;
  • technical data of the device;
  • any data linked to subscriptions, premium features or in-app purchases;
  • technical identifiers necessary for the operation of the app and the prevention of abuse.

Unless otherwise indicated within the app, GuesTax is not designed to collect identity documents, health data, sensitive data or information not necessary for the calculation and management of the tourist tax.

3.4 Technical navigation data

While browsing the site, the following may be collected automatically:

  • IP address;
  • browser type;
  • operating system;
  • device used;
  • pages visited;
  • date and time of access;
  • technical data necessary for security, the proper functioning of the site and the prevention of cyber attacks.

4. Purposes of the processing

Personal data may be processed for the following purposes:

4.1 Responding to contact requests

Data submitted via form, email, WhatsApp, or other channels is used to respond to questions, requests for quotes, business requests, or requests for support.

4.2 Providing digital services

The data can be used to:

  • create websites;
  • configure domains and hosting;
  • install or configure WordPress;
  • create landing pages;
  • manage advertising campaigns;
  • set up booking tools, dashboards or apps;
  • provide technical assistance;
  • prepare content, graphics, texts and digital tools requested by the customer.

4.3 Manage connected apps and tools

For apps like GuesTax, the data is used to:

  • allow the app to function;
  • save settings chosen by the user;
  • calculate amounts;
  • manage any free or premium features;

  • show any advertisements, if any;

4.4 Administrative and tax obligations

The Privacy Guarantor distinguishes between cookies necessary for the operation of the service and cookies that require consent, such as profiling or marketing cookies.

6.1 Technical cookies

They are necessary for the operation of the site and do not require the user’s consent, but must be indicated in the policy.

6.2 Analytical cookies

They may be used to collect aggregate statistics about the use of the site. If configured in such a way as to reduce the user’s identifying power, they can be assimilated to technical cookies according to the indications of the Guarantor.

6.3 Marketing and profiling cookies

Any cookies used for advertising, remarketing, Meta Ads, Google Ads or similar tools are only installed with the user’s consent, when required.

  • Google Play Console;
  • Google AdMob, if integrated into apps;
  • Meta/Facebook Ads;
  • Google Ads;
  • Stripe or other payment systems;
  • WhatsApp;
  • email services;
  • security, backup, and monitoring tools.

These entities may act, as the case may be, as data processors, independent data controllers or technical suppliers. The processing carried out by these parties is governed by their respective privacy policies.

8. App advertising and Google AdMob

Some apps connected to Host Domination, such as GuesTax, may show advertisements through external channels, such as Google AdMob.

In this case, the advertising provider may process device identifiers, technical data, usage data and information useful for the measurement or personalization of ads, within the limits provided by the user’s settings, any consent given and the store’s policies.

When prompted, the app will display a consent message for handling personalized or non-personalized advertising.

9. In-app purchases, subscriptions, and premium features

Connected apps can come with free features and premium features.

Any payments, subscriptions, renewals, cancellations or refunds can be managed through external platforms, such as Google Play or other digital stores. In these cases, payment data is managed directly by the payment platform or store, according to the respective conditions and privacy policies.

Host Domination may receive limited technical or commercial information, such as subscription status, purchase identification, or active features, that is necessary to enable premium services.

10. Data retention

Personal data is kept for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.

Indicatively:

  • contact requests: up to 24 months;
  • data relating to customers and services purchased: for the entire duration of the relationship and subsequently for tax obligations or protection of rights;
  • tax and administrative data: according to the terms provided for by Italian legislation;
  • technical security data: for the time necessary to prevent abuse and ensure the operation of the service;
  • Data processed via the App: until the deletion of the App, the account if any, or the request for deletion by the User, unless legally obliged.

11. Communication of data

Personal data is not sold.

They may only be disclosed to external parties when necessary, for example:

  • technical suppliers;
  • hosting providers;
  • authorized developers or contractors;
  • tax or legal advisors;
  • payment platforms;
  • advertising services or analytics;
  • public authorities, if required by law.

12. Transfer of data outside the European Union

Some third-party services, such as Google, Meta, Stripe or other digital tools, may involve the transfer of data to non-EU countries.

In such cases, the transfer takes place according to the guarantees provided for by the GDPR, such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses or other tools recognized by the legislation.

13. Data security

Host Domination takes appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, modification, disclosure or destruction.

Possible measures include:

  • protected access;
  • software update;
  • hosting security systems;
  • backup;
  • protection from spam and malware;
  • limitation of access to authorized persons only.

However, no computer system can guarantee absolute security.

14. Children’s Data

The Host Domination services and linked apps are not intentionally intended for children under the age of 14.

If the Data Controller becomes aware of the collection of data relating to minors without valid consent, it will delete the same.

15. Your rights

You may exercise your rights under the GDPR, including:

  • access to personal data;
  • rectification;
  • cancellation;
  • restriction of processing;
  • opposition;

Host Domination reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time, including as a result of regulatory, technical, commercial changes or the introduction of new services and apps.
